Below is a list of services that patients can self-refer to without contacting the practice:
1. MSK Direct: Back / Joint Pains & Sport Injuries? Go to Musculoskeletal Direct which is designed to help you receive the right care at the right time for problems such as back, neck and joint pain. https://www.homerton.nhs.uk/musculoskeletal-direct
2. City and Hackney Talking Therapies: This NHS service offers free, confidential therapy for individuals dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, or coping difficulties. Therapies include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and counselling. 3. Antenatal Care:
- Homerton Antenatal Care Service: Antenatal self-referral form | Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
- Royal London Hospital: Expectant mothers can self-refer for maternity care at The Royal London Hospital by completing the online self-referral form. If assistance is needed, contact the maternity team at 020 7480 4885.
- University College London Hospitals (UCLH): Pregnant individuals can self-refer to UCLH’s maternity services by completing the online self-referral form. For queries or assistance, contact the First Appointments Centre at 020 3447 9400 or email uclh.antenatalreferrals@nhs.net.
4. Perinatal Mental Health Services: If you’re pregnant or have recently given birth and are experiencing mental health challenges, the East London NHS Foundation Trust provides specialised support. Self-referrals can be made using their online form.

6. Sexual Health London (SHL): SHL offers a discreet sexual health service for Londoners, providing STI testing kits and contraception options. You can request these services online without a GP referral – http://www.shl.uk/
7. Drug Misuse: Turning Point provides comprehensive support for individuals dealing with drug and alcohol misuse. Their services include harm reduction interventions, structured treatment programmes, one-to-one support, and clinical services. 9. Weight Management: Healthier Together Hackney: Healthier Together Hackney offers programmes designed to support residents in achieving weight loss and increased physical activity. The service provides both weight management workshops and physical activity referral schemes, tailored to individual needs. 11. Minor Eye Conditions: Minor Eye Conditions Service (MECS): Patients experiencing minor eye problems can access the MECS without a GP referral. Participating local optometrists provide assessment and treatment for conditions such as red eye, dry eye, or visual disturbances.
